Dr. Mercedes Smith
Optometrist
Dr. Mercedes Smith was raised in Long Beach, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and received her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia. During her rotations, she was cited for clinical excellence in primary care by faculty. She is currently the Secretary of the Vermont Optometric Association and a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Smith resides in Springfield with her family. She enjoys spending her free time making music, art, cooking, and traveling.
Shawn C. Smith, MBA
Business Manager
Shawn was born and raised in Vineland, NJ. Shawn received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. A nature lover at heart, Shawn thoroughly enjoys all the outdoor activities Vermont has to offer. He resides in Springfield with his wife Dr. Smith, their son, and two cats Artie and Simon.
Samantha Dechamps
Optical Sales Associate
Samantha, originally from Ottawa, Ontario, holds a diploma in Tourism and Travel and a graduate certificate in Event Management from Algonquin College. With eight years of experience in customer relations and retail sales, she consistently strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for patients. Currently residing in Springfield, Vermont, Samantha dedicates her free time to creating memorable experiences with her husband, Cody. Some of her favourite past times include cooking, paddle boarding, and visiting family in her hometown.
Rheanna Paré
Optical Sales Associate
Rheanna was born in Springfield, Vermont. She graduated from the Community College of Vermont with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Rheanna has over ten years of experience working with people of all ages. Her background in education has helped shape her ability to work with and support a wide range of individuals. In her free time, Rheanna enjoys spending time with her family.
Justice Sutherland
Optometric Technician
Justice is a native Vermonter, born to a family with 5 siblings. She is a Compass school alumni, where she now resides on the school board. She is taking classes at Community College of Vermont for Medical Billing and Coding as well as training to become an EMT through VEMSA. Her pursuits are to go to medical school in Grenada to become an ophthalmologist. Justice enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, writing, fishing, hiking, volunteering, working and learning new things. However, Justice’s most enjoyable moments are spent with her fluffy cat, Sprinkles!
Mandy Stratton
Optometric Technician
Mandy is a Vermont native and a Springfield High School graduate. Mandy enjoys spending her free time reading, hiking, listening to music, and going to the gym. She loves spending time with friends, family, and her three cats at home. Mandy is working on furthering her education by taking college classes in hopes to become an optometrist one day!
