Dr. Mercedes Smith
Optometrist
Dr. Mercedes Smith was raised in Long Beach, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and received her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia. During her rotations, she was cited for clinical excellence in primary care by faculty. She is currently the Secretary of the Vermont Optometric Association and a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Smith resides in Springfield with her family. She enjoys spending her free time making music, art, cooking, and traveling.
Shawn C. Smith, MBA
Business Manager
Shawn was born and raised in Vineland, NJ. Shawn received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. A nature lover at heart, Shawn thoroughly enjoys all the outdoor activities Vermont has to offer. He resides in Springfield with his wife Dr. Smith, their son, and two cats Artie and Simon.
Stephanie Crosby
Patient Care Specialist
Stephanie, a native of Clinton, Connecticut, was born a twin. She moved to New Hampshire in 1991. She is a graduate of The Stone School of Business in New Haven, Connecticut with a degree in retail management and visual merchandise. Stephanie enjoys catering with her husband Ray, sharing her Mary Kay business, gardening, and spending lots of time with their grandchildren. She and her husband reside in Acworth, NH.
Nancy Anderson
Patient Care Specialist
Nancy was born and raised in Falls Church, VA, just a few miles from The White House in Washington, DC. She is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, VA with a Bachelor of Science degree. Having a desire to travel, Nancy spent time touring the US before choosing to plant her roots in Vermont in 1989. While raising her two sons, Nancy supported her family as the business owner of Scrapbookers Workshoppe in Quechee, VT and JNB Country Shoppe in Chester, VT. Now married to a native Vermonter, she treasures their home in Chester and their camp on Lake Winnipesaukee. Her best time is spent with family and friends, gardening, boating, reading, scrapbooking, finding delight in nature, and of course traveling.
Justice Sutherland
Optometric Technician
Justice is a native Vermonter, born to a family with 5 siblings. She is a Compass school alumni, where she now resides on the school board. She is taking classes at Community College of Vermont for Medical Billing and Coding as well as training to become an EMT through VEMSA. Her pursuits are to go to medical school in Grenada to become an ophthalmologist. Justice enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, writing, fishing, hiking, volunteering, working and learning new things. However, Justice’s most enjoyable moments are spent with her fluffy cat, Sprinkles!
